On August 25, Nissin celebrates the Birth of Instant Noodles with the launch of a classic Nissin Chicken Ramen Instant Noodle and a citywide series of activations for Hong Kongers to join the party and pay tribute to one of the city’s most beloved foods. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the invention of instant noodles by Mr. Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Foods, who officially launched instant noodles on August 25, 1958. To honour the occasion, Nissin has organised several commemorative activities throughout the city, including complimentary bus rides on an instant noodle-themed Kowloon Motor Bus No.8, a five-day celebration at the CUPNOODLES MUSEUM Hong Kong (the Museum) with exclusive giveaways and promotions. A life-size Ching Chai display and the Chicken Ramen Hiyoko-chan display will also help spread joy at the Museum. Free bus rides on Route 8 for all and the launch of Nissin Chicken Ramen Instant Noodle
The 1958 release of the world’s first instant noodles, Chicken Ramen, marked a significant milestone in the way Asia, and later the world. Its inventor Mr. Momofuku Ando later also created Cup Noodles and Space Ramen, which took global food culture to new heights. To mark 65 years of instant noodles, Nissin has prepared an array of activities to engage and celebrate with fans of the beloved products.
On August 25, Nissin Foods is offering free rides on Kowloon Motor Bus Route 8, which connects Kowloon MTR Station and the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier via Jordan, Yau Ma Tei, Ho Man Tin, and Hung Hom. What’s more, some buses will be adorned with a colourful, eye-catching thematic display, while some buses will be embellished with seatback stickers presenting the fascinating story of instant noodles, from inception to the product fans know and love. Furthermore, Nissin Foods has also released the classic Nissin Chicken Ramen Instant Noodle to commemorate the anniversary. This product differs to other instant noodles. The noodles are soaked with chicken broth sesame oil, thus not necessary to have extra seasoning packets and making it ready-to-eat by just pouring in boiling water. With the special features of the noodles, here is the recommendation – adding in eggs, chives, and more to bring the delicacy to the next level.

From August 25th to 29th, the Museum will host five days of celebratory events and promotions. Ching Chai, the Chief Creative Director of the Museum, will make surprise appearances from 2pm to 5pm on August 25th to 27th, joining in the celebrations and delighting visitors.
